Our Big Little Girl

Charlotte turned 1 on February 8th.

MMM. I've been waiting for this.

This girl has one sweet tooth! No messing around with her she knew exactly what to do and dove right in to devouring her cake.

Only The Brave

Three years ago we started out on the adventure of sweat equity. I guess that's what happens when you watch far too much HGTV and start to think we could do that. We thought our before pictures had been lost but stumbled across them last month. We ourselves had forgotten how scary the house was originally and now feel quite brave that we dared to live in such a thing.

Warning

So I wanted to change up my blog so I went to pyzam.com to pick out a new template. Well it deleted all of my links and other features that I had added to my blog. After asking around I guess this has happened to a few other people too. Maybe I am not technologically savvy enough to figure it out but I just thought I would share what happened to me. Anyways I am trying to recover all of my links so if you will leave me a comment with your blog address that would be helpful. Thanks!

Better Late Than Never

So I know that Halloween was like forever ago but I promised Liz I would post the kids in their costumes. This was the first Halloween in a long time that it didn't snow. Growing up in Colorado the first big snow storm always seemed to come on Halloween. It was actually really nice. No coats required.
I always procrastinate getting the kids costumes. I hope that if I time it right I will be able to get something cute but marked down as well. This year was not exception. Halloween morning I opened the box of Halloween decorations (that I failed to put out) to find this sunflower costume that I had bought the year before. This time my procrastinating paid off. Can't beat a $3 costume.

Our Little Boy

As some of you may or may not know, Isaac was referred to a team of autism specialist at his two year check up (in July). Last week he was diagnosed with Autism and motor coordination disorder. We had a feeling that it was coming but still felt overwhelmed to have it confirmed. We feel fortunate that we have caugh it at a young age when early intervention is key. Incase you don't know Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life. Autism impacts the normal development of the brain in the areas of social interaction and communication skills. We are hopeful that he will make great strides with treatment eventhough he will never be "cured" of autism. Isaac's tested higher than his age in cognitive abilities which makes us very optimistic. This isn't something that we ever thought we would have to face but we love our little boy more than ever. We are currently wading through all of the hoops and paperwork of setting up therapies, applying for grant money, insurance coverages, and educating ourselves about autism. Wish us luck.
